Description:

In this course, the learner will expand the use of a holistic, client-centred, caring approach to nursing practice. The learner will develop critical thinking skills and explore best practice nursing care for patients and families experiencing select acute and chronic health challenges, including mental health, neurological, cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, integumentary, and genitourinary issues. The learner will explore end-of-life nursing care and palliative care of patients diagnosed with terminal illnesses. The student will also learn dignity-promoting strategies to manage clients' responsive behaviours during Gentle Persuasive Approach certification.
