In this course, you will examine the nurse's role in caring for individuals with health challenges that require medication administration. You will develop the critical-thinking skills needed to plan and implement holistic nursing care, including applying nursing theory to assess clients, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate client outcomes. In the lab setting, you will develop competence in various nursing interventions, including, but not limited to, medication administration, intravenous (IV) therapy, blood therapy, and fluid balance. You will optimize your ability to develop therapeutic nurse-client relationships, framed within the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) values of client well-being, client choice, privacy and confidentiality, respect for life, maintaining commitments, truthfulness, and fairness.
