Description:

In this course, you will examine the nurse's role when caring for individuals with health challenges requiring medication administration. You will develop the critical-thinking skills needed to plan and implement holistic nursing care, including applying nursing theory to assess clients, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate client outcomes. In the lab setting, you will develop competence with various nursing interventions, including but not limited to medication administration, intravenous (IV) therapy, blood therapy, and fluid balance. You will optimize your ability to develop therapeutic nurse-client relationships framed within the College of Nurses of Ontario's (CNO's) values of client well-being, client choice, privacy and confidentiality, respect for life, maintaining commitments, truthfulness, and fairness.
