In this course, the learner will examine the nurse's role when caring for families requiring support with reproductive health, as well as acute and chronic health challenges. The learner will develop the health assessment and critical-thinking skills needed to plan and implement holistic nursing care, including applying nursing theory to assess clients (as individuals and families), develop and implement care plans, and evaluate client outcomes. The learner will examine the effect health challenges have on family roles and functions. The learner will learn about detecting and responding to abuse potential and actual abuse. The learner will discuss capacity and consent and their application across the lifespan of family members.
