This course provides learners with an introduction to interprofessional and team approaches to care. Learners will be exposed to a general overview of the philosophy and basic skills required to function as a member of an interprofessional team. This course will explore the essential skills to collaborate effectively on an interpersonal and professional level. The course will examine relevant concepts such as caring, helping relationships, therapeutic interviewing, team dynamics, collaboration, and emotional intelligence. The characteristics of effective and ineffective teams are explored within large and small team environments.
