Description:

Students will explore the core elements of environmental sustainability as it applies to the commercial beekeeping industry including environmental management systems, social responsibility, carbon management and sustainability reporting. Students will be able to assess and evaluate the environmental impacts specific to beekeeping industry and will formulate strategies to minimize and/or mitigate those impacts. The economic benefits of applying sustainability principles to the practice of commercial beekeeping operations will also be explored in depth.
