You will continue your study of the immune system functions, examining in depth, the three lines of defence and their interactions in host defence. You will learn to relate the microbiology of the oral environment and the development and ecological balance of biofilm, to the attendant dental/oral infections, most notably caries, yeasts and the periodontal diseases. You will examine ways to modify the ecological balance to best achieve and maintain oral health.
