This course will focus on basic principles to help you become familiar with the workings of a modern bakery. You will be introduced to the common ingredients used in the industry, learning what they are, how they work, and how to control them. In addition, you will become familiar with the many mixing and blending processes used to create all baked goods. You will focus on the basic sciences to understand why ingredients and mixing methods are combined to produce a desired item. In baking, formulations cannot be changed without serious consequences for the finished product's quality. This course will deliver the theory behind all the basic processes.
