In this introductory course you will be introduced to the modern hospitality and tourism industry. You will examine the trends and issues related to providing integrated services and experiences in a multi-faceted hospitality environment. The focus of this survey course is on the scope of the hospitality and tourism industry in the current competitive global environment, analysing the sectors involved, organizational structures, service systems, technologies, legal and regulatory environments and operational requirements of the industry. You will also examine managerial roles and responsibilities associated with the industry internationally and within Canada.
