Description:

This course will develop your visual awareness and drawing ability through active discussion, observation, and participation in rendering still-life settings and 3-dimensional objects in the studio environment. Studies in this course will enable you to competently render 3-dimensional objects on a 2-dimensional drawing surface across a variety of media, producing accurate interpretations of proportion, shape, and form. Interpretive, illustrative and technical drawing approaches will be explored. Emphasis is placed on the basic drawing principles of line, shape, form, and proportion. Elements such as colour, texture, positive and negative space, symmetry and asymmetry are also explored.
