ARTS1174 develops your visual awareness and drawing ability by active discussion, observation and participation in rendering still life settings and 3 dimensional objects in the studio environment. Studies in this course will allow you to competently render 3-dimensional objects on a 2-dimensional drawing surface in a variety of media giving accurate interpretations of proportion, shape and form. Interpretive, illustrative and technical drawing approaches will be explored. Emphasis is placed on the basic drawing principles of line, shape, form, and proportion. Elements such as colour, texture, positive and negative space, symmetry and asymmetry are also explored.
