Apprentices will follow the Ontario College of Trades Curriculum for the Automotive Service Technician trade. This course will provide a foundation in batteries, electrical and electronic fundamentals. Lessons will cover the principles of electrical circuit calculations, reading electrical schematics, servicing and repairing circuits, and diagnosing problems with circuit protection devices in modern automobiles, including hybrids, with a focus on intake, exhaust, and fuel system fundamentals, emission control, and diesel fuel systems. This course will provide the apprentice with the building blocks required to advance their knowledge and understanding through on-the-job training.
