Upon successful completion, the apprentice can describe the construction, characteristics, operation and maintenance requirements for DC motors, DC generators and generating systems, describe the application of cathodic protection systems, apply the principles of single-phase AC theory, as well as demonstrate procedures to connect single-phase AC RLC circuits and series, shunt and compound DC motors.
