This course examines family dynamics and youth development within the context of mental health and addictions. Students develop strategies to engage families in the recovery process through trauma-informed care. Emphasis is placed on systems theory, ecological perspectives, and strengths-based practice to support individuals across diverse family systems. Learners explore culturally responsive and inclusive approaches that recognize the impact of trauma, systemic oppression, and inter-generational experiences.
