This course uses a comprehensive approach, to build on topics covered in Management Cost Accounting I and II, to prepare management accounting analysis in support of managerial decisions. Students will combine their prior knowledge in accounting, marketing, economics and statistics, with additional management accounting topics, to prepare to make real life operational decisions. In addition to a more detailed study of topics covered in Management Cost Accounting I and II, new topics will include: Pricing Decisions: Profitability and Cost Management, Strategy, the Balance Scorecard, and Profitability Analysis, Cost Allocations (Joint products and Byproducts), Revenue and Customer Profitability Analysis, Spoilage, Rework and Scrap, Inventory Cost Management Strategies ,Computer spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft excel will be used to prepare analysis.
