This course presents basic accounting concepts and the bookkeeping cycle at an introductory level. Students will learn the manual process of systematically analyzing, recording, and reporting financial transactions for an organization. In this course students will learn how to maintain accurate financial records as well as procedures for Canadian payroll and sales tax remittances. Financial information must be accurate and presented in a professional manner following best practices so that it can be a reliable measure of a company's performance. Computerized Accounting represents a technological advancement in the field of business accounting and so students will also be introduced to accounting software and its many advantages.
