Not All Men are Allies – But All Can Be!
The reality is that not all men are perpetrators, but many stay silent when they witness harm.
Sexual and gender- based violence affects us all, no matter who you are or where you live.
- Women, girls and LGBTQ2IS people face the brunt of male violence in the form of sexual and gender-based violence.
- Men and boys are routinely victimized by other men, and support for men is lacking.
Even though most men believe that sexual and gender-based violence is wrong, they still may contribute to environments where this violence is perpetuated when they do not challenge these harmful attitudes and beliefs.

Statistics Canada:
- Almost 3 in 4 students (nearly 75%) witnessed or experienced unwanted sexualized behaviours on campus in the past year.
- 98% of sexual assaults are committed by men.
- Women, students with disabilities, and bisexual students experience significantly higher rates of sexual assault and unwanted sexualized behaviours.
