
A message from the Centre for Organizational Excellence:
The Centre for Organizational Excellence (COE) is excited to launch our Winter/Spring 2024 Professional Development (PD) Calendar.
PD courses are open to all part-time and full-time employees and feature a variety of sessions offered at various times throughout the term to accommodate employee and people leader schedules.
Employee learning opportunities:
- Intro to EDI: This four-part learning series will provide you with a foundational understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion that will support you in identifying how you can contribute to this work in your role at NC.
Date: Module 1 – January 31 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- Handling Conflict and Difficult Conversations: Difficult conversations are hard, and conflict happens! Join us to learn some tips, tricks, and tools that you can use to craft your message, keep other perspectives and opinions in mind and handle conflict effectively.
Date: April 11 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Learning opportunities for people leaders:
- Management Success: This six-module program focuses on the knowledge, skills and abilities that enhance your success as an NC manager.
Date: Weekly full-day series running between January 23 and March 21
- Queen’s Workplace Mental Health Leadership Certificate Program: This program teaches practical, empathetic, solution-focused leadership skills for managing performance and promoting mental health.
Date: February 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
