Nursing Research Stream

Led by Dr. Holldrid Odreman PhD, the Nursing Research Stream at the Center for Research in Education provides faculty with opportunities to engage in both funded and non-funded research studies.

These studies focus on clinical education and practice. Key research areas include healthcare adult education, nursing leadership, clinical learning strategies, nursing and public health, health equity and social justice, and healthcare simulation-based teaching and technology. This initiative aims to advance knowledge and practice in these critical areas, fostering innovation and excellence in nursing education and healthcare delivery.

Dr. Holldrid Odreman

Nursing Research Stream Research Lead

Dr. Holldrid Odreman is the program coordinator in the School of Nursing for the Honours Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Niagara College. He is a certified Canadian simulation and nurse educator with the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN). Dr. Odreman holds a Ph.D. in Education specializing in Adult Education Leadership and Healthcare Education and a Master of Science in Nursing Education. With over 25 years of professional and academic experience in teaching and learning, best practices in curriculum design, evidence-based nursing practice, and educational research, Dr. Odreman contributes to the art and science of teaching and learning.

Key areas of expertise include curriculum design, evidence-based practice in teaching and learning, simulation-based learning, clinical teaching, and faculty and staff professional development. Dr. Odreman’s present research areas include adult education, program leadership, effective learning strategies, nursing leadership, curriculum design, and simulation-based teaching and learning.
