Launched in September 2024, Niagara College’s Centre for Research in Education investigates, produces, and disseminates new knowledge on education-related issues across interdisciplinary areas, with the goal of informing, supporting, and improving educational practices.
Vision
To create and advance knowledge on cross-disciplinary issues in education at a tertiary level through academic research, collaborations, partnerships, and dissemination.
Areas of Focus
Our work focuses on the following research areas, but not limited to:
- Teaching methodology
- Student engagement
- Applied learning
- Technology and learning
- Curriculum design
- Diversity and inclusivity in curricula
- Special needs education and
- Second language learning, and teaching.
The Centre for Research in Education will also serve as:
- A resource hub for new knowledge to address a variety of issues in tertiary education
- An online and in-person conference and colloquium centre; and
- A facilitator of a national and international network of educators through research partnerships and collaborations.
