The Centre for Research in Education strives to investigate, produce and disseminate new knowledge on education-related issues.

Launched in September 2024, Niagara College’s Centre for Research in Education investigates, produces, and disseminates new knowledge on education-related issues across interdisciplinary areas, with the goal of informing, supporting, and improving educational practices.

Vision

To create and advance knowledge on cross-disciplinary issues in education at a tertiary level through academic research, collaborations, partnerships, and dissemination.

Areas of Focus

Our work focuses on the following research areas, but not limited to:

  • Teaching methodology
  • Student engagement
  • Applied learning
  • Technology and learning
  • Curriculum design
  • Diversity and inclusivity in curricula
  • Special needs education and
  • Second language learning, and teaching.

The Centre for Research in Education will also serve as:

  • A resource hub for new knowledge to address a variety of issues in tertiary education
  • An online and in-person conference and colloquium centre; and
  • A facilitator of a national and international network of educators through research partnerships and collaborations.
