Please use extra caution when travelling to and from campus, and give yourself extra time to arrive and park. When arriving on campus, be aware of snow clearing equipment, and walk carefully on snow-covered surfaces, using handrails where able, to avoid slips, trips and falls, especially on slopes and stairs. Dress warmly, using multiple layers, and wear appropriate footwear.
Parking during inclement weather
During heavy snowfall events, parking lot capacity may be reduced due to snow-clearing operations and obscured lines. To compensate, overflow lots are available at each campus. At the Welland Campus, permit holders are encourage to park in the newly paved Lot E3 (near the Rice Road entrance) and in Lot D4 (the former contractor lot). At the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus, overflow parking is adjacent to the campus on the northeast side (near the Niagara Corporate Business Centre), and is easily accessible directly from campus – “overflow parking” signs are posted and regular permit parking is enforced. Please call the parking attendant if you are having trouble finding parking. Other options to consider include carpooling and public transit. Students receive a U-Pass as part of their registration, which can be used with any public transit provider. Students at the Welland Campus can park at the Seaway Mall, 800 Niagara St., and take a Welland Transit bus directly to campus.
