Policies and Plan

In consideration of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Niagara College has developed two policies to strengthen our commitment to the underlying principles of the Act in conducting our daily operations and administering our diverse services, in addition to a Multi-Year Plan.
  1. Customer Service Standard – The first standard identified to improve accessibility for persons with disabilities was the Customer Service Standard. It includes information regarding what businesses and public sector organizations in Ontario must do to provide their goods and services in ways that are accessible to people with disabilities.
  2. Integrated Accessibility Standards – The next three accessibility standards; Information and Communications, Employment, and Transportation, all fall under one regulation, called the Integrated Accessibility Standards. The practice developed to address this group of issues is intended to create real and effective change so that all may share the same level of access to and benefit from our services, and to participate in the full range of college opportunities.

Multi-Year Accessibility Plan

This Accessibility Plan has been prepared to address issues and barriers preventing persons with disabilities from participating fully in the Niagara College community. This is a multi-year Plan that outlines how we intend to identify, prevent and remove barriers to accessibility, as well as our strategy in meeting the various requirements under the AODA legislation.
