In Niagara College's School of Trades you can...

  • gain the practical skills needed to play a key role in Ontario’s rapidly growing construction industry;
  • develop the electrical skills needed for workforce entry and/or a foundation for further study;
  • learn how to operate precision metal cutting and grinding machines or use a variety of advanced welding techniques; or
  • qualify for entry into a hairstyling apprenticeship, operate your own automotive shop, or work as an automotive service technician.

The Niagara College School of Trades prepares students for the workforce or future study in a wide variety of skilled trades.

Aligned with NC’s commitment to helping meet Ontario’s demand for well-trained, highly-skilled workers, the college’s trades programs are taught by expert faculty in spacious lab facilities with modern equipment, enabling students to gain hands-on, applied learning experiences. In addition, students can further their industry experience by connecting with industry leaders and gaining practical experience via co-op opportunities and apply for additional industry-recognized certifications post-graduation.

Teaching Hair Salon

The NC Teaching Hair Salon is a practical, hands-on learning environment for students in our Hairstyling diploma and Hairstyling Apprenticeship programs. The hairstyling salon allows students to practice and strengthen their hairstyling skills in a professional environment under the guidance of passionate and experienced hairstyling educators. Students offer haircut, colour and styling services to the public at an affordable rate.
