Denise is a professor within the Civil Engineering Technician program, bringing over 18 years of industry experience to the classroom. Previous to teaching Denise held a variety of roles including engineering designer, project coordinator, engineering technician and computer draftsperson. Denise is the Niagara chapter director for the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) and a member of the Fort Erie Committee of Adjustment. Denise holds both an Advanced Diploma in Construction Engineering Technology – Architecture from Niagara College and her certification as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) from OACETT.
Frank holds his diploma in Computer Electronics Engineering Technology from Mohawk College and his Technology Teachers College Certificate from Brock University. Frank has also completed the National Coaching Certification program and is now a master learning facilitator. Frank is also a member of the Ontario College of Teachers and the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologies (OACETT). Previous to teaching, Frank was the owner and operator of Internet Access Worldwide as well as Innovation Computer Solutions. He has also worked in industry as an electrical/ hydraulic/ PLC designer for Magna International.

Michael has been teaching at Niagara College since 1996, and was a member of the team that developed the Computer Engineering Technician program. Previous to teaching, he worked for a telecom company developing telephone system management software. He also worked in the financial products division of CIBC, developing software to support the trading of derivatives and other financial instruments. Michael holds a Bachelor of Computer Engineering from McMaster University.

Research Interests
Stefane is the Program Coordinator for the Electronic Engineering Technology and Technician programs. He has been teaching at Niagara College for over 9 years and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Western Ontario and a Masters in Applied Science – Mineral Resources Engineering from Laurentian University.
Frank joined Niagara College as a professor teaching into the Civil Engineering Technician & Construction Engineering Technology program in 2000. Frank is the former Owner of CAD-Works Drafting & Design specializing in architectural, structural and civil drafting as residential and small commercial design and residential design build services. Frank holds a Bachelor of Education (BEd) in Adult Education from Brock University and a diploma in Construction Engineering Technology – Architecture from Niagara College. He is currently pursuing a B.A in the Classics from Brock University as well as a Project Management Certificate from Algonquin College.

Previous to teaching, Fred held the role of electrical designer & programmer for numerous engineering consulting firms and worked as a plant systems engineer for a local manufacturing facility. Fred has a history of successfully designing, programming and implementing numerous factory automation systems for both local and international manufacturing facilities.

Paul joined Niagara College in 2006 as a full time professor in the Electrical Technology and Technician programs. Previous to teaching, Paul worked as a professional engineer in a variety of industries. During his time working in the steel industry, Paul was responsible for designing and installing an automated 50MW energy management system and automation improvements for steel fabrication lines, resulting in 30% improvement in processes uptime. Paul also worked with General Electric, designing and installing upgrades for injection mould machines, fridge foam processes, CSA testing processes, powdered enamel process, boiler house improvements for steam and compressed air production. In addition, he has designed the electrical power and controls for Marathon Sewage and Water Treatment Plant as well as Highland Creek Water Treatment Plant. Paul holds his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and Management from McMaster University and his P.Eng as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.

Rick is a professor within the Mechanical Engineering Technician & Technology program, bringing over 20 years of industrial experience to the classroom, specifically in launching new processes in steel forging, welding, machining, automatic and manual assembly operations, and semi-automatic magnetic particle inspection. Rick has extensive experience designing and implementing lean manufacturing processes on the factory floor. Rick worked with General Motors, earning Chairman’s Honors Award during the launch of the V-8 Gen IV Engine. Since joining Niagara College in 2011, Rick teaches courses such as Machine Design Components, Quality Improvement Tools, Materials Technology, and Manufacturing Processes. Rick is also heavily involved with Niagara Research and Innovation, working with students and graduates performing on-site research within the industry focused on advanced manufacturing and lean production processes. Rick holds his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and his P.Eng from the Professional Engineers of Ontario.
Sergio is a professor within the Mechanical Engineering Technician & Technology program. He has earned his Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Niagara College and his certification as an Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT). Sergio also holds a Technological Education Teacher’s Certificate from Queens University and is recognized by the Ontario College of Teachers as a member in good standing (O.C.T.).
With over 40 years of experience in both industry and education, Sergio brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Niagara College.
Aaron joined Niagara College’s School of Technology in the Fall of 2013 as a Professor for the Mechanical Engineering Technician & Technology programs. Previous to teaching, Aaron primarily worked for manufacturers of custom automated machinery/equipment, and custom fabricating and millwrighting companies, holding the position of engineering manager, project manager, and mechanical designer. Aaron has extensive experience working within a variety of industries such as heavy industrial, material handling, structural construction, pulp and paper, shipping, mining and renewable energies to name a few. Aaron has earned his Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Niagara College and his Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology from McMaster University. He is a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).
Neil is a professor within the Mechanical Engineering Technology and Technician program, teaching courses such as Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Fluid Mechanics, Mechanical Design and Computer Modeling. Before joining Niagara College’s School of Technology in 2006, Neil held the title senior test engineer at Goodrich Landing Gear Division. Neil has earned his B.A. Sc. from Waterloo and his P.Eng As a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
Cristina joined Niagara College in 2019 after 20 years in the photonics industry as a manufacturing engineer. She worked in the area of New Product Introduction with multi-disciplinary teams, bringing fiber optic devices, camera, lens and laser systems from prototypes to high rate production. This allowed her to gain valuable experience in producing optical designs that can be manufactured, as well as understand the skills required to be successful in the photonics and hi-tech industry. At Niagara College, Cristina teaches courses in optical manufacturing technologies, optical design and optical test and measurement. Cristina has earned her M. Eng. in Engineering Physics from McMaster University, Canada.
At Niagara College, Cristina shares her experiences and lessons learned in the industry with the students, guides them to acquire skills that are highly sought after by the photonics industry and challenges them with projects that will help them become lifelong learners and problem solvers.
Research Interests
Alexander is the professor for the Photonics Engineering Technician and Photonics Engineering Technology and Advanced Lasers program. He holds an Electronics Engineering Technologist Advanced Diploma and is currently working towards receiving his Bachelor of Education from Brock University. “Just do it – learning through experience”
Jay joined the Niagara College School of Technology in 1998 and teaches into the Electronics Technician and Technology programs as well as the Photonics Technician and Technology programs. Previous to teaching, Jay worked with Antel Optronics Inc. as a quality manager for fiber optics test equipment manufacturing, Task Microelectronics in hybrid microelectronics design and fabrication and Les industries C-MAC also in hybrid microelectronics fabrication. Jay has earned his Electronics Engineering Technologist Advanced Diploma from Niagara College.

Bryan has been with the College since 2011 as a faculty member, teaching courses such as Industrial Controllers, Wind Turbines, Energy Storage and Grid Connections. Since 2011, Bryan has also been a faculty lead with Niagara Research, conducting full-term research in the electrical & renewable energies field. Bryan previously worked in the industry with Priva North America as a system designer and production department assembler, designing and building custom PLC based greenhouse control systems with medium voltage control panels. Bryan has been a part of many successful projects and initiatives at Niagara College including Papernuts as the faculty lead, managing an electrical engineering technology graduate to design and implement a feedback-based web tension control system; working with an industry partner Durham Foods to design, build and test a human propelled DC spinach harvester; collaborating with the Mechanical Engineering Technology team in the design of a PLC-based control of a semi-automated asphalt injection machines for use in patching potholes – just to name a few. Bryan has earned his Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology from Niagara College and his Certified Technician (C.Tech) certification from the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).

Jeff is a professor within Niagara College’s Renewable Energies Technician program. Previous to teaching Jeff worked in energy management and auditing, designing and managing facility renewal projects that focused on delivering energy saving solutions for existing facilities. Jeff has also worked within the HVAC industry specializing in designing and troubleshooting systems. While working within the HVAC industry, Jeff was part of the project team that delivered facility renewal and energy retrofit programs for various school boards throughout Ontario. He has earned his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng.) and is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) as well as Project Management Professional (PMP).
