FAQ for Staff
- You can file a formal report with Campus Safety either in-person or online at www.niagaracollege.ca/campussafety/report/security/. Incidents involving non-academic student misconduct will be forwarded to SRRO for review.
- You can also complete the Student Misconduct Form (listed under Related Documents for the Student Code of Conduct Procedure). Provide as much information as you can, and submit it to your direct Supervisor and/or Associate Dean who will review and forward to SRRO for formal investigation where appropriate.
- SRRO and/or Campus Safety may communicate with other departments including but not limited to Human Resources, Academic Divisions, Health, Wellness and Accessibility Services, and the Behaviour Intervention Team to ensure the appropriate action is taken.
- SRRO may contact you for additional information throughout the investigation process.
If you are unsure about making a formal report, you can consult with our office by emailing [email protected] to review the matter and decide on next steps. Some incidents do not involve policy violations or would be better addressed through a more informal approach. The SRRO can help you better understand you rights and responsibilities as a member of the college community, provide resources and referrals as well as strategies for resolution.
Please keep your Supervisor and/or Associate Dean updated with any further information you have regarding this incident or the student in question. If appropriate, SRRO will initiate a formal investigation and may contact you to obtain further information throughout the investigation process.

The Student Code of Conduct provides guidelines for appropriate behaviour for all Niagara College students and a framework for addressing non-academic misconduct. Misconduct under this policy includes any action that violates the Criminal Code of Canada, Provincial Offenses Act or any other applicable legislation. See the Student Code of Conduct which outlines types of misconduct that may be considered a violation to the Code.
