The data and information that inform Career Coach are drawn from nine different Statistics Canada surveys on jobs, the economy, and the local workforce, and turned it into decision-ready information to better understand the labour demand dynamics at the census metropolitan area level. It provides historical and current information, and builds on the Canadian Occupational Projection System’s analysis to project future occupational trends.
All labour market data shown on Niagara College’s Career Coach Website is provided by Economic Modeling Specialists International (EMSI), based on Statistics Canada sources and updated twice a year. Job postings are also provided by EMSI, pulled from Indeed.com and updated every 24 hours. Data reflects the demand side of the labour market, and does not look at the supply side, such as the number of people qualified to work in each occupation.
