Hiking for Edible Wild Plants
An outdoor classroom learning experience! Find out how easy it is to locate and identify wild edible and medicinal plants right here in the Niagara Region. Topics include foraging and plant identification tips, safety, and readily available plant species to use in a survival situation. Students will also learn how to prepare wild teas, salads, and berry jams. Students will meet at the Welland Campus of Niagara College for an introductory session, and then take part in a fun nature hike at a nearby wooded lot.
