Introduction to Tea
In this course students are introduced to cupping techniques, basic tea types, the origin of tea and professional grading standards. Perfect for the tea enthusiast, whether developing a career in the hospitality, restaurant or retail industry or further engaging in tea education. Introduction to Tea is a prerequisite for all remaining tea sommelier certification courses. Topics explored include history, tea types, terminology, grading standards, sensory evaluation and cupping/tasting procedures. TEA101 from the Tea and Herbal Association of Canada is considered an equivalent.
