Food Service Functions
You will study the role of the food service worker in a health care setting as it applies to quality assurance, quantity food production, menu planning, institutional kitchen procedures, purchasing, receiving, food storage, inventory control, costing, effective communication, and customer service. You will explore industry standards, policies and procedures, and legislation that pertain to healthcare food service with particular emphasis on the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care Standards for Dietary Services.
