Myths and Legends
Mythology underlies some of our most fundamental ways of thinking about the world and about structuring our social reality; as such, myths and legends affect our everyday lives in profound and sometime unexpected ways. This course will examine and analyze myths and legends from a variety of cultures, and will explore mythology from a broad range of perspectives and in an assortment of thematic groupings. By analyzing both ancient and contemporary myths, students will be encouraged to develop a critical understanding of how myths help to shape the living fabric of contemporary thought and culture. NOTE: This course is accepted for General Education credits.
