Protocols for Research Projects
Administrative Consent
All research involving Niagara College students, employees, facilities, data, or institutional affiliation must receive administrative consent / approval before submission to the Research Ethics Board (REB).
This approval confirms institutional permission and feasibility and applies to all researchers, regardless of academic credentials or position. The REB reviews ethical considerations only and does not replace institutional authorization. REB applications submitted without prior administrative approval may be returned without review.
The proposed research will be reviewed for institutional fit and feasibility through a multi-stages process. If administrative consent is granted, the investigator may then complete the College’s application for ethics review, if applicable.
As the first step in this process, please download and complete the form below, and submit to Katerina Gonzalez, Director, Planning and Institutional Research (PaIR), at [email protected].
PaIR respects and promotes the First Nations Principles of OCAP® (ownership, control, access, possession), which “assert that First Nations have control over data collection processes, and that they own and control how this information can be used.” OCAP® is a registered trademark of the First Nations Information Governance Centre (FNIGC).
