Niagara College Fall 2026 Open House Tuition Contest Terms and Conditions

  1. This contest (the “Contest”) is sponsored by Niagara College (“Niagara College”) and begins at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8 and closes at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2026, (“the Contest Period”), after which time no further entries will be accepted.
  2. This Contest is only open to individuals who at the time of entry are (a) residents of Ontario, Canada; (b) 17 years of age or older. In the event an entrant is under the age of 18 at the time of entry, that entrant’s parent or legal guardian will be responsible for all aspects of the Contest on behalf of the entrant, including receipt of the prize and signing any needed releases or other documents; (c) entering into term 1, level 1 of a full-time program at Niagara College in September 2027 Winter 2028 or May 2028. In addition, to enter the Contest an eligible individual must register through the Niagara College website https://www.niagaracollege.ca/openhouse/#register or visit Niagara College’s Fall Open House (the “Open House”) on November 7, 2026 at the Welland Campus, 100 Niagara College Boulevard, Welland Ontario or Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake, 35 Taylor Rd, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. For clarity, entrants who received or are receiving OSAP and who otherwise meet the other eligibility requirements set out in these rules are eligible to enter this Contest. No monetary or other valuable consideration is required to enter the Contest.
  3. The following individuals are ineligible to win prizes or enter this Contest: (a) employees of Niagara College, their spouses, parents, children and siblings and any other person living in the same residence with any of them; (b) persons who are enrolled in Academic Upgrading, English as a Second Language or any Apprentice programs at Niagara College.
  4. There is no purchase required to enter this Contest. Eligible individuals may register in advance through the Niagara College website prior to 10:00 a.m. on November 7, 2026, or by completing an online entry at the Open House. Only one (1) entry is permitted per individual. In the event it is discovered that any individual attempted to enter the Contest more than once, all entries by that individual will be disqualified from this Contest.
  5. To be eligible for the prize draw, entries must be received by 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Saturday, November 7.
  6. There will be one prize of $5000 credited toward the winner’s tuition at Niagara College (the “Prize”). The Prize must be accepted as awarded and is not transferable to anyone else and is not convertible to cash. There will be no substitutions except at Niagara College’s option. Niagara College reserves the right to substitute a prize or prize component for one of equal or greater value. In the event that the winner’s tuition is less than $5000, the difference will not be provided to the winner. In the event the winner’s tuition is more than $5000, the winner will be responsible for the difference.
  7. In the event an eligible entrant who is chosen to receive the prize is not registered and enrolled as a full-time student at Niagara College in September 2027, January 2028, or May 2028, they will forfeit any right to receive the Prize. In the event that a potential winner does not comply with all the eligibility criteria as set out in these rules and Niagara College admission requirements for first-year students, Niagara College will have the right to disqualify such potential winner.
  8. There will be a random draw (the “draw”) to select a potential winner from among eligible entrants who have submitted an eligible entry outlined in section 2. The draw will take place on November 20th at 10:00am , 2026, at Niagara College, Welland, Ontario. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received by the Contest Closing Date. Once a selected entrant is drawn, the selected entrant will be notified within five (5) days from the draw by email message. If a selected entrant cannot be contacted within five (5) days after being selected, he or she will forfeit the Prize.
  9. The selected entrant will be required to complete a mathematical skill testing question and to complete a release form within three (3) days of notification of being selected. If the selected entrant fails to correctly answer the skill testing question or fails to return the properly executed release within the specified time then they will be disqualified and will forfeit the Prize .
  10. The winner acknowledges that Niagara College has the right to reproduce, publicize and broadcast his/her name, likeness, voice and the fact that he/she won the contest and all matters incidental thereto, without compensation. By participating, participants also agree to give the College the right to use their name in marketing campaigns and promotions not necessarily associated with the contest. Any personal information that is provided to Niagara College will be on a voluntary basis.
  11. All decisions made by Niagara College with respect to any aspect of this Contest are final and binding.
  12. By participating in this Contest, each entrant agrees:
    1. that he or she has read, understood and will abide by these rules;
    2. to be bound by these rules and the decisions of Niagara College, whose decisions are final;
    3. to provide proof of age, proof of registration in an eligible program and proof of Ontario residency;
    4. to allow Niagara College to use, reproduce, publicize and broadcast the winner’s name, city of residence, likeness, voice, photograph/video or statements for editorial purposes without compensation other than the value of the prize offered;
    5. any personal information that is provided to Niagara College will be on a voluntary basis; 
  13. Niagara College will not be held responsible or bear any liability for: 
    1. late received, lost, misdirected, incomplete or illegible entries, all of which will be deemed void, or for any typographical or other production or distribution errors;
    2. entries which fail to comply with these rules;
    3. failure of the internet during the Contest Period, nor for any problems or technical malfunction of any network lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, or traffic congestion on the internet or any combination thereof;
    4. any and all losses, damages or claims whatsoever caused by or resulting from this Contest or Niagara College’s sponsorship of it.
