Educate yourself about why sexual violence happens, why people might not want to speak up or report it, and how you can support survivors.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Learning opportunities for students and employees<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>May 13<\/strong> at 11 a.m. and <strong>May 20<\/strong> at 11 a.m.<br \/>\n<strong>Virtual workshop with Kaytee Smith, NC&#8217;s Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Coordinator<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Join NC&#8217;s Kaytee Smith for a discussion on forms of sexual violence, consent, and how you can help.<\/em><br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ca.cglink.me\/2y7\/r378172\">Register through the NC Engage App.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>May 28 <\/strong>at<strong> 1 p.m. <\/strong>at Welland Campus<br \/>\n<strong>Drink\/vape spike awareness info session<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Spiking is when a substance is put into a person&#8217;s body through a consumable like a beverage or vape without their consent. Attend an information session with the Niagara Sexual Assault Centre and Crimestoppers to learn about protecting yourself and others.<\/em><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncengage.ca\/CIK\/rsvp_boot?id=378185\"><strong>Register through the NC Engage App.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Book display at the Library<br \/>\n<\/strong>Visit the Library and Learning Commons this month and browse a book display with titles related to sexual violence prevention.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Year-round support at NC<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Did you know that NC has an in-house Sexual Violence Prevention and Response coordinator? Kaytee Smith employs a trauma-informed and survivor-centered approach to supporting students impacted by sexual and gender-based violence.
