A new art installation at NC’s Welland Campus will feature the creativity and perspectives of Black students and employees.<\/em><\/p>\n

The NC Community is invited to the unveiling of a community art project on March 20 at 10 a.m. at the Welland Campus in the Learning Commons.<\/p>\n

The quilt project celebrates the United Nation’s (UN) Decade of African Descendants<\/a> and was co-created by black students and employees with local artist Nadine Williams<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The piece will feature a collection of sketches, quotes, and poetry from members of the NC community. The unveiling event<\/a> will include remarks from President Sean Kennedy, artist Nadine Williams, as well as representatives from the Black Students Association.<\/p>\n

The project is a collaboration between Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Planning, Capital Projects and Sustainability, and the Libraries and Learning Commons.<\/p>\n
