{"id":1285935,"date":"2024-12-11T14:52:54","date_gmt":"2024-12-11T19:52:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.niagaracollege.ca\/insidenc\/?p=1285935"},"modified":"2024-12-11T14:56:20","modified_gmt":"2024-12-11T19:56:20","slug":"cktb-interview-with-dr-marc-nantel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.niagaracollege.ca\/insidenc\/2024\/12\/11\/cktb-interview-with-dr-marc-nantel\/","title":{"rendered":"CKTB: Interview with Dr. Marc Nantel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On December 9, Dr. Marc Nantel, NC&#8217;s Vice President of Research, Innovation, and Strategic Enterprises, was interviewed by Steph Vivier on CKTB to discuss the College&#8217;s achievement of earning the No. 1 ranking for colleges in Canada for research funding for the second consecutive year.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about maintaining the No. 1 ranking and the College&#8217;s strategy for securing research funds, Nantel stated, &#8220;I&#8217;ve always thought that you need stability&#8230;we try to look at the long term and larger grants, and that really solidifies our position.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Vivier also inquired how students perceive the top research ranking and how it has impacted the recruitment of prospective students.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Students already get a great hands-on education at the College in all of our programs, but [we also offer them the opportunity to] do a research projects with real industry partners, with&#8230;real budgets, real outcomes, and it gets them more ready for when they graduate to hit the job market running.
