In collaboration with Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan), Niagara College will be hosting an Ontario Capacity Building Session for International Engagement, May 25 and 26, at the Daniel J. Patterson campus.

This capacity building event aims to strengthen CICan members’ ability to engage in international cooperation projects, contract training, student mobility, and student recruitment. Sessions will include presentations, breakout discussions, and networking opportunities to share best practices and learn from one another.

This event supports CICan’s 2022-2025 International Strategy, which strives to futureproof Canada in the world. This initiative aligns with its pillar of strengthening the sector which resulted in CICan establishing capacity-building sessions for international engagement. To date, these provincially focused sessions have been held in British Colombia, Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.

As part of Niagara College’s 2022-2027 Strategic Plan, this event aligns with multiple areas of focus including global reach and alumni and partner engagement.

“These sessions will provide valuable professional development experiences for team members across the College while simultaneously providing an opportunity to showcase the exemplary work of Niagara College in the areas of internationalization and global engagement,” said NC’s Senior Director of Global Engagement, Holly Catalfamo, Ed.D.

The College looks forward to collaborating with CICan and CICan members throughout the sessions and exploring opportunities to strengthen its international engagement to support students, staff and faculty, and the community.
