Niagara College welcomes more than 40 global educational partners representing over 15 countries as part of the 2023 Niagara College Familiarization (FAM) Tour, taking place May 10 to 13.

The annual FAM Tour allows participants to tour NC’s campuses and learn about life as a Niagara College student. The event will feature presentations from different areas across the College and an opportunity to meet faculty and staff.

This year’s FAM Tour is co-hosted by Niagara College Canada and Niagara College-Toronto (NCT), including visits to NCT’s Mirvish campus and NC’s Niagara Region campuses.

The event helps educational partners gain a deeper understanding of life in Niagara outside the classroom to better support the wellbeing of international students and their transition to Canada. In addition to a presentation and tour of Welland Centennial Secondary School, this year’s FAM Tour includes a presentation by the Tourism Partnership of Niagara to highlight the region and provide participants a better perspective on what life in Niagara looks like.

“We are excited to welcome our educational partners as they play an important role in supporting our prospective students with pursuing education around the world,” said NC’s Senior Director of Global Engagement, Holly Catalfamo. “One vital pillar of NC’s success in being Canada’s leading global College is ‘bringing the world’ to Niagara and having students join us from all corners of the world.”

NC’s global educational partners assist prospective international students with learning about Canadian education and provide essential services to help them navigate the processes required to arrive and study in Canada. Much like a travel agent, the education marketing specialists visit the schools they promote to learn about the institutions, discuss best practices, and gain experience to share with their students.

The FAM Trip helps agents to support, inform, and engage prospective students in choosing where to fulfill their dreams of studying abroad. After attending the FAM Tour, participants will have a clear vision of what makes the College, its community, and the Niagara Region unique and attractive.

Please give our global educational partners a warm NC welcome if you see them on campus.
