A message from NC International’s Global Engagement division:
Niagara College Employees are invited to attend NC International’s Global Learning Lounge on Feb. 28 at 12:30 p.m. via zoom.
Our students come to Niagara College from all over the globe with diverse backgrounds and life experiences. Each student journey is as unique as each student but understanding their core experiences helps create an inclusive and supportive environment. Our students, not just our international students, come to us as parents, as children, as spouses and as students.
This session will explore the diverse backgrounds and experiences from some of our international students as they discuss what brought them to Niagara College, their transition to learning in Canada and what resources and advice were most valuable in their academic journey.
What you can expect to take away from this session:
- Insight into a small sample of our international student experiences and how their needs are as diverse as they are
- Opportunities for us to consider how we can adapt our support to address the diversity of our student population
Session Hosted by: Sue Guenther, Associate Director, International Student Services
Sue Guenther has worked in higher education for almost 14 years in both student services and administration. With a focus on empowering students and facilitating life-long learning, she also strives to learn as much as she can from the students. Working with students and learning from them is an ongoing challenge and a privilege.
