YourTV Niagara’s Mike Balsom spoke with Jeff Murrell, NC’s Associate Dean of the School of Trades, about the College’s partnership with the Niagara Home Builders Association on a Construction Skills training program to help close the skills gap in the construction industry.
The program, fully funded through a $1.2 million grant from the provincial government, is designed to provide fundamental training in health and safety, including how to work on a construction site and how to use the required tools safely, and provides specialized skills training in drywall and roofing.
