Local radio station 101.1 More FM and news website Inniagara posted a news brief on March 11 about NC’s flags flying at half-mast from Mar. 11 to 13. Campus flags were lowered to honour those who have lost their lives to COVID-19 and to encourage a time for reflection at the two-year anniversary of the first COVID-19 case in the Niagara region.
The coverage mentions that NC first lowered its flags last year to mark the National Day of Observance for COVID-19, declared by the Federal Government on March 11, 2021, and that the College “continues to recognize the challenges that have been felt by many individuals as a result of the pandemic as well as the continued efforts of our local health-care teams and essential workers, and the resilience of our college and local communities.”
