Niagara College’s Esthetician program was in the media spotlight on December 1 with an article in the Niagara Dailies and the Niagara-on-the-Lake Advance.

The program recently received $43,000 in funding to help students with their social and digital media skills to prepare for a new era in the industry after the shutdowns and shakeups of the pandemic. Part of the funding, received from the Government of Canada’s Innovative Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) program and Co-operative Education and Work-Integrated Learning (CEWIL) Canada’s iHUB, has been used for a new WIL project for students, who have been creating product demonstration videos for an industry partner using new multimedia equipment purchased through the project. The funding has also provided financial support to 23 second-year esthetician students, who have been awarded $1,000 each.

The coverage includes comments from Evan DiValentino, Associate Dean of NC’s School of Hospitality Tourism and Sport, Esthetician Professor Susan Paone and Trish Green, President, Balnea Spa products and creator of  TheraGenesis, the skincare product line that the students have been creating a range of videos for.
