On September 1, Molson Coors Beverage Company, along with its craft arm, Six Pints Collective, announced the creation of two financial awards in support of students enrolled at select post-secondary brewing programs in Canada, including NC’s Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management program. The awards – The Molson Coors BIPOC Brewing Award and The Six Pints Women in Brewing Award – are specifically for BIPOC and female students to help encourage diversity in the brewing industry.
NC’s Craig Youdale, dean of the Canadian Food and Wine Institute, is quoted in the release: “These awards will create opportunities for BIPOC and female students who come to Niagara College’s Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management program with the goal of pursuing a career in the brewing industry. Thanks to the support of Molson Coors, these future brewers will not only take the industry by storm with their innovative skills and unique perspectives, they’ll also be helping to close the diversity gap that currently exists within it.”
