A message from Sean Coote, vice-president International:
Following an extensive search, I am pleased to announce that Holly Catalfamo will become the new Director of the Global Engagement department, within the International Division, effective July 26, 2021. Holly brings to the position over 20 years of leadership and management experience in both academic and non-academic settings. Holly started at the college in 2000 as a part-time instructor and settled into a permanent faculty role in 2003. Holly’s innate ability to foster strong relationships, coupled with her passion and innovation, contributed to her success in many leadership roles including the coordinator of three academic programs and during her recent secondment as the Associate Dean of the School of Business and Management.
Holly has always been a strong partner and advocate of Niagara International. She has participated in several global development projects in Brazil, Jamaica, St. Lucia and most recently in Kenya, where she shares best practices through her work and collaboration with our partners. Holly has also encouraged many students to participate in the Be World Ready program, leading and promoting international travel abroad experiences, semester exchanges, and facilitating international course-based research opportunities with partners across the globe.
While Holly’s undergraduate studies focused on business administration and education, she continued her studies at Brock University receiving a Master of Arts in Public Administration. Holly also holds a Doctorate in Education from the University of Toronto with a focus on Leadership and Leadership Development in the post-secondary sector. Most recently, she completed a certificate in Leadership and Inclusion at Centennial College. Her dedication to life-long learning undoubtedly demonstrates her passion for education and personal growth.
Holly’s commitment to excellence is evident through the numerous awards she has received, including the Colleges and Institutes Canada Gold Leadership Excellence Award, the National College Sector Educator Award where she is recognized as a 3M Teaching and Learning Fellow, and her NC SAC Educator of the Year Award, to name just a few.
I am confident that Holly will make outstanding contribution to the international team. Please join me in welcoming Holly to her new role.
