In this Wines in Niagara feature, beer and spirits writer Stephen Beaumont shines the spotlight on NC’s Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management program, highlighting the man behind much of the program’s success: NC brewmaster and professor Jon Downing.
CFWI associate dean Gary Torraville comments on the program’s success over the last 10 years with Brewmaster alumni working in breweries in Niagara, across Ontario and around the world. Torraville and Downing also speak to the recent safety measures put in place during COVID-19 to allow the program to continue training the next generation of brewers.
Beaumont also reviews six NC Teaching Brewery beers as part of the piece: Saison 101, Pilsner 101, Butler’s Bitter, Bock 101, India Pale Ale 101 and Strong Ale 101.
