Allan Benner with the St. Catharines Standard wrote an article, appearing in all three Niagara Dailies, about NC’s accelerated Personal Support Worker program.
The article notes that NC has received an influx of applications since the Government of Ontario announced the tuition-free program and that wait lists have been set up for both intakes (May and June 2021).
NC’s dean of Health and Community Studies Carolyn Triemstra is quoted throughout the article. She commends the government for addressing the need for PSW’s throughout the province by way of the new fast-tracked program and highlights that students will receive a full credential from NC upon completion of the program, studying five days a week, six to eight hours a day.
