The Niagara College Knight Walkers are still looking for your support for this years Coldest Night of the Year.

Taking place virtually on February 20, 2021, the Coldest Night of the Year initiative invites walkers from across Canada to participate in support of local charities serving people experiencing homelessness, hurt and hunger.

This year, The Niagara College Knight Walkers are walking in support of the Open Arms Mission of Welland and are asking the college community to support them by donating what they can to the team.

One Knight Walker, Joanne Sutherland, academic business manager, Media, Trades and Technology, is kicking her fundraising up a notch by agreeing to buzz her head if she meets her personal goal of $2,500.

“This is my third year walking for the Niagara College Knight Walkers,” says Sutherland. “The Coldest Night of the Year event is a great way to support a local organization in need and with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, organizations like the Open Arms Mission of Welland have even more need than usual.”

“I guess I could say that buzzing my hair is a bucket list item for me and I thought it would be a fun way to challenge our community to raise some additional funds for this great cause.”

The 2021 event will be held completely virtually and participants are encouraged to select their own safe walking route near their home on Feb.20.
