NC’s Learning Enterprises continue to offer a sampling of virtual experiences for wine, beer and spirit enthusiasts, with the latest event from NC’s Teaching Winery adding a charitable component to the menu.

A United Way Tasting Event will be held on Thursday, December 17 at 6 p.m. via Zoom with a portion of the proceeds going to the College’s United Way workplace campaign, NC Cares, to help raise funds for those in need in the Niagara community.

Hosted by head winemaker Gavin Robertson, the experience will take participants through a VIP tasting of four NC award-winning wines, which are available for purchase in advance of the event as part of a special package, allowing participants to taste the products along with Robertson during the event.

Robertson will discuss each of the featured wines, speaking to their grape varietals, terroir, production techniques, tasting notes and food pairing suggestions, and share additional information based on his first-hand experience as a winemaker and wine professor at NC. He will also encourage participant questions throughout the interactive one-hour session.

The event package includes the following featured wines at a cost of $173.70:

• 1 bottle of Balance Brut – Riesling (N.V.)
• 2 bottles of 2017 Marmitons Gastronomy Fumé Blanc
• 2 bottles of 2017 Marmitons Gastronomy Pinot Noir
• 1 bottle of 2018 Dean’s List Prodigy Icewine

To purchase the package, visit NC’s Wine Visitor + Education Centre, open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., call 905-641-2252 ext. 4070 or order online here.

For those who plan to order the package online, local delivery is available as well as same-day curbside or in-store pickup. To order for local delivery, allow one or two business days. Province-wide shipping is also available and requires approximately three to 10 business days.
