Wine vs. beer: Canadian Food and Wine Institute hosts Caps, Corks and Forks Round 9

The ultimate battle between wine and beer continues at the College’s Canadian Food and Wine Institute.

On Nov. 26, Round 9 of the popular Caps, Corks and Forks will be held at Benchmark Restaurant. A new team of students on Team Beer and Team Wine will promote the beverage pairings they have selected for each dinner course to a sold-out crowd. Guests will vote on their favourite pairing with a cap or a cork, to determine the winner.

The event will feature special guest hosts chefs Anna and Michael Olson

Tickets for Caps, Corks and Forks Round 9 have been sold out for months, and Round 10 is selling out quickly.

Round 10, to be held on January 30, will feature an interesting twist, with beer faculty facing off against wine faculty.  Culinary faculty preparing the meal along with a course by Junior Culinary Team Canada, Benchmark restaurant staff and CFWI dean Craig Youdale. The event will be held in the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus cafeteria to accommodate a larger crowd.
