The Niagara Independent: Niagara College steps up in fight against COVID-19

The Niagara Independent reported on local efforts by Niagara College and Brock University who are producing face shields for front line health care workers in the region.

The news coverage highlights the donation of in-demand healthcare supplies (personal protective equipment, including N-95 masks, gloves and gowns) donated to local healthcare efforts by NC, as well as the production of 2,000 face shields at the Walker Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre. Last, the story notes that NC’s Teaching Distillery is converting the stills that make spirits for the production of a 70% alcohol sanitizer for cleaning and disinfecting.

Finally, NC’s Research & Innovation Division is exploring new ways to assist Health Canada with projects related to COVID-19.
