NC grad and a multi-award winning motion picture writer/director Christopher Bessette (Terrapin Point Motion Pictures) has begun a new chapter in his career with the publication of his first novel, The Mythamohre.
Since graduating from Niagara College’s Broadcasting: Radio, Television and Film program in 1984, Bessette has built an international career in the television and film industry. His feature films include Trade of Innocents (2012) which he directed and wrote, starring Mira Sorvino and Dermot Mulroney; and The Enemy God (2008) which he directed, that spans 50 years of an Amazonian tribe. His work has not only taken him across Canada and most of the U.S. but throughout Europe, as well as to the Amazon, Central America, Russia and Southeast Asia.
In 2012, Niagara College nominated Bessette for Premier’s Award in Creative Arts and Design.
Bessette has recently begun teaching part-time at Niagara College. He taught Dramatic Script Writing last fall, and is currently working with second-year BRTF students in their film lab.
A book signing event will be held Jan. 25 from 1 to 4 p.m.at Chapters, Fairview Mall, 285 Geneva St., St. Catharines.
